Dr. Clifford Alan Hopewell is a distinguished clinical neuropsychologist with more than 27 years of military service and a career marked by clinical innovation, leadership, and dedication to patient well-being. As a senior neuropsychologist during the Global War on Terror, he provided specialized care to service members and directed neuropsychological services at renowned institutions, including Moncrief Army Hospital, Brooke Army Medical Center, and Baylor Scott & White in Dallas. He was instrumental in establishing the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) service at Landstuhl Army Regional Medical Center, one of the most advanced military medical centers in the world.
Dr. Hopewell’s leadership extended to building and directing the world’s largest psychiatric outpatient clinic at the time, while serving as Officer in Charge of the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center TBI Clinic (now the NICOE Center of Excellence). Under his command, the clinic achieved an unprecedented record of patient safety with zero suicides. His commitment to excellence was recognized with numerous honors, including the Army Achievement Medal for reinstating Joint Commission Accreditation.
During deployment in Iraq, he conducted groundbreaking research on combat-related brain injuries and became the first Army prescribing psychologist to serve in a combat theater. For his contributions, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for original research and the Meritorious Service Award for heroism during the Fort Hood terror attack.
Dr. Hopewell’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science with a language minor from Texas A&M University, a Master’s and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Texas, and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology from the California School of Professional Psychology/Alliant University. He also holds four foreign language certifications and continues to advance his studies in foreign languages.
A Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Dr. Hopewell is the only prescribing clinical neuropsychologist to hold this honor. He has also served as President of the Texas Psychological Association, underscoring his leadership and influence within the field.

As a member of the Board of Directors at CNA Medical Associates, Nick plays an instrumental role in shaping the organization’s long-term growth strategy and digital roadmap. His leadership is helping CNA Medical Associates modernize and scale its “All In One” medical network—while staying rooted in its mission to make high-quality care accessible, affordable, and community-centered.
